Lo que te comenta la propietaria
This period farmhouse dating back to the early 1800s has undergone a recent refurbishment maintaining the original features of the stone walls and exposed brickwork barrel-vaulted ceilings. The architecture, interiors and furnishings are in keeping with the rural style and traditions of the Langa, using locally-sourced materials. The large, quiet rooms are simply furnished with period pieces, providing comfortable, cosy surroundings. Old agricultural implements and a collection of early 20th-century photographs and diplomas add to the atmosphere, and testify to the building’s farming origins. The garden, with seating and children’s play equipment, provides a particularly well-kept, safe setting for relaxation. Guests also have the opportunity to experience day-to-day life on a farm featuring vineyards, hazelnut groves, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens and a farmyard spread over a 15-acre estate. The owner or a member of the family are always on hand to welcome visitors and provide friendly assistance and hospitality. Tourist information and leaflets are available on the premises, and an events calendar is always kept up-to-date. And to round off your stay perfectly, making it even more enjoyable and unique, you are sure to be won over by the breakfast expertly prepared by Vilma using fresh, genuine ingredients, and served in a particularly homely setting.

Natural surroundings In its panoramic setting amidst the green hills of the Langhe, at an altitude of 450m and just 5 minutes from the town of Dogliani, "Barbarossa" B&B offers the opportunity to discover a succession of vineyards and hazelnut groves stretching out in geometrical patterns, interspersed with still widespread broadleaf coppices displaying a fascinating variety of colours that change with the seasons. An area with its own unmistakeable character. A setting where a multitude of different features have been blended by nature and history. A balcony opening out onto a fantastic background of snow-capped mountains: on a clear day, the panorama takes in most of the western arc of the Alps, rivalling anything the most famous viewpoints in the world have to offer. Events Interesting arts and crafts - terracotta pottery and ceramics, wooden sculptures, wrought iron and embroidery work - are on show during the main local festivals and fairs, including: · the Old Cherry Fair in May; · the Dolcetto di Dogliani wine fair in September; · the All Saints’ Fair on 2 November (during the first week in November, the restaurants in Dogliani present a traditional local dish, a tripe and chick-pea soup called "cisrà", accompanied by the finest fare of the Langa); · Luglio Musici: a Gospel and Spiritual music festival held in July; · 23/24 December: living Nativity Scene in the old part of the town around the Castle, with a cast in costume of no fewer than 350 re-enacting life at the time of the birth of Jesus. Food & Wine The area is famous for the production of Dolcetto di Dogliani wine and for the cultivation of the “Tonda Gentile delle Langhe” variety of hazelnut used to make delicious biscuits and cakes. The villages of Murazzano and Bossolasco, which are celebrated for the production of their famous P.D.O. Toma sheep’s cheese, lie just a few kilometres away along the winding country lanes of the Upper Langa. All the traditional local dishes can be enjoyed in restaurants nearby, including carne cruda (Alba-style raw veal served with truffle), hand-made tajarin (thinly-cut tagliatelle) or ravioli al plin (pinched between fingers and thumb), bollito misto (mixed boiled meats), and - for a sweet finish - baked peaches or bonét (chocolate and macaroon pudding). On the land alongside the B&B facility we grow hazelnuts (7½ acres) and the dolcetto grapes (6 acres) used to produce the Dolcetto wine you can taste in the farm winery.
