Xaymaca is a delightful villa, set in a courtyard with room to dine al fresco; beautifully decorated in traditional style with spacious areas for sitting and dining. 4 comfortable bedrooms, 2 at the back of the property with great views of the mountains behind. (We set off and climbed these one day). Our family of 6 much enjoyed our stay, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, eating and chatting round the spacious dining table, and enjoying lovely Spanish wine. There was a very nice pool set in it's own garden (with fresh rosemary and sage to enhance your cooking) with sun-beds and tables but as it was the 'winter' season (15-17 degrees) we chose not to swim. Jennifer, our hostess, was kindness itself in assisting us to enjoy our Christmas vacation by helping us to find a restaurant for New Year's Eve, taxis etc. and suggesting places to visit in the surrounding area. Benimeli is a sleepy village/town, very Spanish and rural, and just a perfect place to be. We had great tapas at Casa Dali in Sanet y Negrals run by a very friendly Dutch couple.
We can highly recommend a stay at Xaymaca - hire a car and you can explore the area with ease. We flew in to Valencia, stayed a night there and then drove to Benimeli on very good roads. All sad to leave our beautiful villa and go back to work!! [
